Aromathèque Mediamatic: Murky Swamp, Delta Splat (1)

We are very excited for this edition of Aromathèque – where we don't just visit the swamp; we become it. Sink knee-deep into the yielding, muddy soil and breathe in the rot of wetlands – that earthy mix of clay, algae, and decay.

Guided by queer visual artist and singer-priestess Venus Jasper (Griepink)(@venusjasper.earth), we’ll wade into mudscapes, wetland rituals, and the speculative revival of swamp goddesses. Together, we’ll explore ecological kinship and queer mythologies rooted in wetlands – spaces of resistance, in-betweenness, and murky magic where life and death entwine.

Curated by scent artist Frank Bloem (@frankbloem), Aromathèque is a monthly playful program where artists, designers, and scientists reframe the so-called “lower senses” of smell, taste, and touch as vital tools for cultural imagination and research.
