Decomposition
Decomposition is a scent and sound artwork, commissioned by Museum Boijmans van Beuningen. The collaboration between sound artist Harpo 't Hart and Frank Bloem made the phenomena of instable glass touchable and smellable.
Frank researched the different smells of unstable glass for the Exhibition Weeping Glass (Huilend Glas) in Het Depot. He translated it to scents that reflected his research in The Depot. Harpo attached speakers to some of the bottles and created a smooth and rough feel to the installation. By means of sound waves.
